Wolfi follows Skippy all the way to Palestina

This was the first time we went our own ways. Even though it was only for one day, it gave a taste of the future. Skippy was supposed to be in Palestina...

Treasurehunting in Colombia - getting water and insurance extended

Sometimes the logic and the system in Latin America is shockingly different like in these simple examples: buying drinking water in an environmental friendly way and getting/extending the compulsory insurance for the motorbike.

The only insurance company which seems to give foreign vehicles insurance for less than a year is Suramericana www.sura.com

Re-designing the front end of SilberWolf (19.- 22. Dec2015)

Re-designing a bike in a country which language I do not speak is a major challenge. The fact that the forces which appear on a sidecar are typically unknown to the every-day mechanic. Will I get this fixed?

SilberWolf broken in Desert Tatacoa

We wanted to explore Desert Tatacoa which meant only a small divert and some 35km of gravel road. I noted about half-way that something was wrong with my front fork only to get the devastating news confirmed at the campsite.

Should she stay or should she go now?

Back on the road again and Lyra went from good to bad and back to good. What to do?

James Bond - 007 in Bogota, Colombia

Back to timeline...

Skippy had finally enough with her Mac and thus we went together to Bogota to find a solution. We also found that the new James Bond was shown in English - a must-see for both of us.

+++ news flash +++ Ideas and advice needed: front frame trouble again +++

just when I thought things got better...

I thought that only the bearing went broken (again) for some strange reason.

Bike repair, a spooky spider and a pissed Skippy

Skippy got really pissed at her new Mac - one of the worst-behaving PC's which I ever had. It was time to do some major preventive maintenance at the SilberWolf and of course a little bit of our life at the finca.

Skippy's cakes and organic farmers festival

Skippy's cake and food production was running on full power and Wolfi got to enjoy goodies daily. Our host invited us to visit their yearly local organic farmers event with music.

More pictures from San Francisco and Bogota

These nice folks helped me out with some tools (at Jumbo, Bogota)

"Oma" Cafes gibt es überall in Kolumbien :)
San Francisco near La Vega
The finca (in the middle)
Alto de la Virgen - Chapel on top of the mountain
Inside the chapel
Skippy spreading the vegan message with her self-made T-shirt
Alex - our host and guide for this trip
Worm (or spider) manifestation in the tree
Cute and tiny fellow
Rare view to the mountains (no clouds)
Local way to dry laundry
These seeds(?) puncture right through the leave
It was time to screw around at the bike (video coming soon)

Pilgrimage, slaughter and a new plan

Skippy, me and the dogs were on a local pilgrimage. We witnessed a day of slaughter. Skippy is training girls AND we have a new plan (28Nov - 2Dec)!

Life at a finca in Colombia

For me it was waiting for spare parts, Skippy was heavily cooking and this meant plenty of time for walking, playing and reading in short almost like vacation.

Colombia: Still impressions, snapshots and more

A few still impressions, snapshots and stuff like this from Alejandria to the Finca.
Alejandria: those vultures were well fed by the nearby slaughterhouse.
Short-distance bus in Alejandria
Spooky creature - no idea what this was, almost looked pre-historic
Unbelievable: the brake pads disintegrated while I fixed the bike.
Peto is such a laid-back dude
A quick stop for a photo shoot at the entrance of Pablo Escobar's hacienda.
Finca in San Fransisco: Peto - the beast
Wynn's Dragon PowerClean additive - to compensate for the lousy fuel quality in Colombia.
Our little monsters.
While shopping I enjoyed a vegan lunch in Bogota.
Peto loves those bears :)
Nosy as usual
Mmmh - teddybears are delicious ;)
More action over there?
Or over there?

Skippy is busy satisfying all the dogs and cats around here...
... this cat is really cute and bending while getting a rub.
Feeding time - I was a bit disappointed to see that they get their food just thrown at the floor.
Beautiful amaryllis just outside the living room window.
watch and enjoy

Finca El Cimmaron - 9 dogs, 2 cats, a donkey, a horse and goats

This Finca is spacious and with 9 dogs, 2 cats, a donkey, a horse and goats - there is always some action. Besides all that I needed to do some planning ahead with the bike.

Back to the cooler mountains and first time in a Finca

The pressing heat in the valley was only bearable inside with the aircon constantly on. We went to the higher and cooler mountain area and ended up for our first time in a Finca.

+++ Is this the end? +++ Colombia's back country roads and a stop at Pablo Escobar's hacienda

Colombia's back country roads are nice and offer stunning landscapes. I had a short stop for a photo shoot at Pablo Escobar's (the drug dealer) hacienda and later on Skippy vanished for quite a while...

Alejandria and back to Medellin

The bolt was out and next day we had time to explore more of Alejandria. Finally on Monday it was time for another adventure: the bus ride to Medellin and back in order to get my spare parts.

El Penon de Guatape - a few still impressions

Once more a few pictures for the friends of still impressions ...
El Penon de Guatape - soon there.
Arrived at the parking lot (Now I can clearly see the spots in my lens. Anybody knows how to clean it DIY?)
Good camping spot (camping was for free but only toilet during day time)
Camping with a view and I love my new chair :)
Skippy was just besides me
View to the lake(s) from the parking lot.
Peto was not afraid and made instantly new friends.
Whoa - Peto really had fun there. This "monster" slept just besides my tent the whole night and when Ulpu went to pee in the morning she almost got a heart attack when she saw this fellow. I never heard her so much whining while running back to mommy.
Next morning I went to the top.
Made it. Been there. Done that!
And this bearing and bolt broke and caused me some headache.

Stay tuned for the next travelogue...
